She began her professional journey in the catering industry, ultimately managing five kitchen restaurants in the City of London. After relocating to Wells, where she owned a butchers shop and worked for Oxfam in Wells and Bristol, showing her commitment to charity work.

Returning to hospitality, she founded a delicatessen and catering company in Queen Street Wells and worked for Truly Scrumptious Cake designers, highlighting her passion for providing high quality food and customer services.

In 2005, Tanys embarked on a new path by training as a Therapist and earning the title of Student of the Year in 2006 & 07. Demalogica student of the year 2008.

She also played a vital role in her family’s cheese business, excelling in PR and Marketing. Pioneering the cheesecake business and creating a record-breaking cheese sculpture for the Bath & West Show. (For charity) Her appearances on television programs further demonstrated her creative talents.

Tanys is an Ashtanga Yoga teacher, emphasising her commitment to her own and other peoples health and well-being. With the emphasis on bringing people together to have fun and friendship.

As an accomplished painter, she specialises in large-scale, bold designs and was commissioned to paint a swan sculpture in Wells.

Tanys has been actively involved in Wells City Council and was a District Councillor. After her year in office she continues her charitable work, supporting organisations like Heads Up, which aids individuals with mental health needs, and Whizz Kids, which empowers young wheelchair users and other smaller charities. She wishes to continue to forging a path in combating loneliness.

Her aim is to keep the dresses together as a collection and show communities how to replicate the project in other areas. Taking the dress exhibition on tour as a Community Interest Company, her hope is to encourage other communities to follow in the footsteps of Wells and see what can be achieved when people work together.

Tanys loves working but will quietly say her greatest pride lies in being a mother to four boys, where she continues to support their aspirations and provide for them.

Overall, Tanys’s remarkable journey is a testament to her versatility, dedication, and desire to make a positive impact on her community and beyond.
